    At Martinez Junior High School we believe every student can learn. We promote and encourage students to succeed academically and socially in a safe, caring environment with the support of our community.

    All student over-the-counter and prescription medications must be accompanied by the appropriate medication forms. No medications will be accepted at your child's school without the proper documentation. New forms must be submitted each school year. All medications must be picked up by an authorized adult at the end of each school year. Medications not picked up will be disposed of. For student health forms click this link.

    Martinez Unified School District celebrates the home languages of each of our students. We recognize that families may need interpretation services in order to access services and communicate with school district personnel. We can provide interpretation services when needed.     services.

    • FRIDAY is the Homecoming Parade. Show off your school spirit by wearing blue or your spirit wear to school on FRIDAY.

    • This week’s Friday School is rescheduled for MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23.  Please be sure to read your slip for the date and location.  Notice to all students, there is NO waiting for friends to get out of Friday School.  You are expected to leave campus promptly when the bell rings.

    • Good job to all the 1st lunch game room winners: Brianna Rohio, Lilah Raynor, Sandor Harrison, Angel Gutierrez, Daniel Anderson, Rowan Boeger, Erika Griswold, Sebastian Farias, Miguel De Los Angeles, Marisela Villezcas, and Anna Guerrero, Patrick Keller, Aslan Pham.  All of these students demonstrated kindness and were helpful to others without being asked. Sandor Harrison is the lucky winner of our first game room winner raffle!

    • Girls basketball sign ups will be held after school on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 in the gym.  It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Duarte.

    • WEB LEADERS: There will be a WEB leader meeting (that's 8th graders ONLY) on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 at 8:15 am in the library. Yes, this is before the bell rings. We will meet from 8:15 - 9 am and then join 2nd period, as it's a minimum day. Please check email on Monday for any updates.

    • Heads up!  TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, is a minimum day.  All students must be off campus by 12:15.

    • Attention all 8th Grade CJSF members: It is time to volunteer for the MEF Run for Education. The run will take place on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th and volunteers work from 7:15 until 10:15 am.  Please stop by room D-204 to pick up a permission slip.  I will take the first 20 students who sign up. It is a fun event to work, so don’t miss out!

    • The 2019-2020 PTA Reflections contest is underway. Stop by the office and pick up an official entry packet. Entry deadline is TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15.

    • Please verify your address BEFORE enrolling your child.  Please use the School Finder link under Quick Links to confirm that your home address is within the Martinez Unified School District boundaries.  Some Martinez neighborhoods are within the Mt. Diablo Unified School District boundaries. 
    • For all new families enrolling a student(s) at Martinez Junior High School, please go to our Enrollment/Registration link on our home page under the Quick Links section to begin the online enrollment process.  All initial enrollments MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE prior to bringing in the required documents to our Registrar.

    HELP WANTED

    Noon Duty: Supervising 500+ middle school students at lunch takes a lot of teamwork, but we could sure use some help. Our terrific and energetic team of supervisors are down a person right now. We need someone for 2 hours/day, 5 days/week, 9.5 months/year. Our lunches are from 11:19am-12:48pm each day; Wednesdays, lunches are from 10:49am-12:08pm. Salary: $11.60 – $14.85 per hour.
