Math Help

Need extra help?  I will be available after school in my classroom during lunch and/or after school.  Don't wait until you are far behind to ask for help!  5 minutes after school asking for clarification can save you an hour of frustration at home.

LATE WORK POLICY - PLEASE READ

MJHS MATH DEPARTMENT LATE WORK POLICY

Every student will be issued two (2) Late Work Passes per quarter that may be used for homework assignments that are not completed on time.  NO ADDITIONAL LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS IT IS TURNED IN AT FRIDAY MATH SCHOOL.

Our goal is to have students further study and practice the math concepts they learn in class by completing their homework. Students are able to ask questions, participate in class and/or group discussions and get immediate feedback on their work when they are prepared with completed homework.  We believe this policy will support students in their transition to becoming College and Career Ready as stated by the Common Core State Standards.

Late Work Passes may ONLY be used for Homework assignments. If a project or assignment in the Assessment category of the gradebook is turned in late, the assignment will be marked down at a rate of 10% (one letter grade) per day.  If at the end of the quarter a student has not used their Late Homework Passes, they may redeem them for extra credit points in the Homework category.  Homework assignments completed at Friday Math School will be credited at 80% (7E students will be credited 60%).

Students with excused absences will be given an equal number of days to make up work without penalty. Students with IEPs or 504s will continue to be accommodated as documented.
