    At Martinez Junior High School we believe every student can learn. We promote and encourage students to succeed academically and socially in a safe, caring environment with the support of our community.

    All student over-the-counter and prescription medications must be accompanied by the appropriate medication forms. No medications will be accepted at your child's school without the proper documentation. New forms must be submitted each school year. All medications must be picked up by an authorized adult at the end of each school year. Medications not picked up will be disposed of. For student health forms click this link.

    Martinez Unified School District celebrates the home languages of each of our students. We recognize that families may need interpretation services in order to access services and communicate with school district personnel. We can provide interpretation services when needed.     Design A T-Shirt Contest!


    The 17th Annual Shell/MEF Run for Education is seeking student designs for the t-shirts and banners used to promote the event. The winner receives a $100 Visa Gift Card and will be recognized at this year's race September 29, 2019.

    • 6th and 7th Graders!  Please see the video after the announcements for our Leadership elections. You will need to place your vote by 2:30 today.

    • Tonight is the night the 8th graders try and do what most 8th grade basketball teams have failed to do, Beat the Faculty and Staff!!!.  Come watch and see for yourself. Doors open at 6:00. $2 for students and $5 for adults. Let’s go Faculty!!!!

    • SPOILER ALERT:  Friday, at lunch, you are invited to see a special, sneak preview of our spring musical, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN.  They sing! They dance! You will be surprised and delighted to see your classmates rockin' it on stage. EAT YOUR LUNCH FIRST then come to the auditorium for the last 20 minutes.  We hope to see you there.

    • The Native Spanish Speakers Placement Test for Alhambra High School will be Friday during 6th period.  Students will be receiving a pass during 5th period to go to the computer lab/library to take the test.

    • Attention all CJSF members:  Just a reminder that your signed permission slips and payment for our college field trips are due by this Friday.

    • Don’t forget Coding Club meets on Mondays in D-205 at 2:45!

    • MJHS presents SINGIN' in the RAIN, a musical performance by students.  Join us for one of three performances:

      • Thursday, April 25 at 7 pm

      • Friday, April 26 at 7 pm

      • Saturday, April 27 at 2:30 matinee

      • Tickets are available at the door, 30 minutes before showtime, or online, until the day of the show.  Tickets can be found at SINGIN' in the RAIN Tickets Link (

    • Academic Success:

      • Monday-Wednesday-Friday in the computer lab - eat lunch first.

      • Wednesday and Friday after school until 3:15 pm.

    Noon Duty: Supervising 500+ middle school students at lunch takes a lot of teamwork, but we could sure use some help. Our terrific and energetic team of supervisors are down a person right now. We need someone for 2 hours/day, 5 days/week, 9.5 months/year. Our lunches are from 11:19am-12:48pm each day; Wednesdays, lunches are from 10:49am-12:08pm. Salary: $11.60 – $14.85 per hour.
